Efficacy and safety of fluticasone propionate nasal spray in treatment ofadenoidal hypertrophic snoring in children

This study investigatedthe efficacy and safety offluticasone propionate nasal spray in treatment of adenoidal hypertrophic snoring children.Fifty-six children with were enrolled. According to adenoidal-nasopharyngeal ratio (ANR) lateral X-ray examination,the assigned moderategroup (23 cases) severegroup (33 cases).The fluticasone was used for all patientsfor 4 weeks.In 56 patients, after treatment, compared before the snoring, sleep apneaand obstruction scores moderategroupand score severegroupwere significantly decreased,respectively (P < 0.05).The decreases apnea, mouth breathing moderate group higher than those severe group, respectively <0.001).After 18 patients ateral adenoid size obviously reduced, nasopharynx airway enlarged. The meanANRdropped from 0.76±0.10 0.72±0.09(P <0.001).Duringtreatment, only 2 reported intranasal dryness occasional epistaxis, which self-healed without treatment.Fluticasone is effective safe children’s caused by hypertrophy.
